Kalahari Arms - General

The Kalahari Arms Hotel in Ghanzi, Botswana offers accommodation to suit every budget. It is the perfect bed and breakfast stopover for travellers on their way to Namibia or the Okavango Delta. Guests are accommodated in en-suite chalets with DStv, air-conditioning and tea/ coffee facilities - or you can pitch your tent on one of the campsites.

Ghanzi is known as the “capital of the Kalahari” and started out as a small hunting and trading post in 1870. The Kalahari Arms Hotel was one of the first businesses to be established in Ghanzi. According to some the town was named after the Naro word describing the good condition of the antelope found in this part of Botswana. Today Ghanzi is ideally situated on the Trans-Kalahari Highway.

The Location

The Kalahari Arms Hotel is well-equipped to refresh a weary traveller. You can soak up the Botswana sunshine or relax in the lapa with a refreshing drink. Lose those extra kilograms by swimming a few laps, while the children can get rid of all their pent-up energy in the playground. Ghanzi has abundant groundwater supplies (a result of the limestone ridge the town is located on), so the Kalahari Arms Hotel is surrounded by a luscious garden.

There are two swimming pools, a family-friendly pub with games, a playground for the junior guests (including a baby pool). The camp is fully enclosed with security at night.
